GOUSA believes that the role of government is to create greater opportunity for all Americans. Unfortunately, Washington and the Biden Administration is hurting, not helping the average American. That needs to change.
A new poll from Monmouth University shows that most Americans believe that the actions of the federal government are hurting them financially.
Overall 57 percent of Americans said that the actions of the federal government are hurting them, only 8 percent say that the government has helped. The percentage of Americans viewing the federal government as hurtful is a record high since Monmouth began asking the question in January 2015.
A record 88 percent of Americans say that the country is on the wrong track—also a record high–versus 10 percent who say America is on the right track.
Americans also view Biden’s policies as primarily benefitting the rich (more about that below). Only 41 percent say that middle class families have benefitted a lot or a little from Biden’s policies and 54 percent say that the middle class hasn’t benefitted at all.
In contrast, under Trump, 65 percent said that the middle class benefitted a lot or a little versus 32 percent who said that the middle class didn’t benefit at all.
Clearly Trump’s policies were better for the middle class whereas Biden’s policies benefit the elites at the expense of the working class. Indeed, the Biden Administration seems intent on waging a class war against middle- and working-class Americans.
The results of the Monmouth poll should be no surprise to anyone. The ways that the Biden Administration is harming Americans is long. To name just a few:
- Rampant inflation that is decimating the savings and earnings of American families
- Mass illegal immigration that drives down wages for working Americans and especially blacks
- The promotion of critical race theory and racialist policies that further divide us
- Unrealistic energy policies that are destroying American jobs and emptying our wallets
