Not even Democrats believe that the “Inflation Reduction Act” will reduce inflation.
Here at GOUSA, we previously blogged about the detrimental economic and environmental effects of the Schumer-Manchin Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. See our previous post or visit windAction for a detailed analysis of the Act.
Now it turns out that not even Democrats believe their own claims about the Act. A poll by YouGov find that 47 percent of Democrats believe that the Act will either increase inflation or have no effect. Only one in five Democrats believe that the Act will reduce inflation.
Overall, only twelve percent of Americans think that Act will reduce inflation while 36 percent think it ill increase inflation.
Now even Bernie Sanders admits that the claim that the Act will reduce inflation is complete codswallop. He says “I wanted to take a moment to say a few words about the so-called Inflation Reduction Act. And I say ‘so-called,’ by the way, because according to the CBO and other economic organizations that have studied this bill, it will have a minimal impact on inflation.”
The Democrats characterization of the Act as having anything to do with inflation is flat out dishonest. It is no wonder the percentage of Americans that express confidence in Congress is so low.
Here at GOUSA our goal is to cut through the political B.S. and identify those politicians and policies that serve the interests of the American people and those that do not. Our opportunity rating system is a key tool in doing just that.
